Though it might not be open at this time, the CPO Club is an important waterfront asset that must not be overlooked. We've been going to the CPO Club on Friday nights for fish fries for years - it's one of the best.
Currently there is a search being conducted for an operator that can work with The New York State Division of Military and Naval Affairs, The City, and the general public. If those pieces of the puzzle all come together, then Buffalo public will once again, have a culinary destination at the foot of LaSalle Park.
There is no better vantage point than the front patio of the CPO Club. The mouth of the Niagara River is clearly visible, as is the Peace Bridge and the Canadian side. Until an operator surfaces and an agreement can be made, you can still go visit this landmark. Bring a picnic and sit out in front of the building at one of the picnic tables. It's the perfect place to visit on a warm summer day.
