GCR Audio
From the outside, this building is pretty unassuming. Unbeknown to many a Buffalonian, the inside boasts an over the top John Storyk-designed state of the art music studio. It's the current home of GCR Audio (formerly Inner Machine Studios) - a studio where countless guitars line the walls and the mixing boards and sound equipment are as impressive as the modern, sleek blond wood recording chamber.
GCR Audio is the culmination of a dream for GooGooDolls' founding member Robby Takac. The studio gives artists on his indie label, Good Charamel Records, a sophisticated recording arena in the heart of Buffalo. From Robby:
"Good Charamel Records is largely made up of bands from my hometown of Buffalo, NY, the city has bred a rich musical heritage over the years, including my band The Goo Goo Dolls, Ani DiFranco, 10,000 Maniacs, Cute is What We Aim For and Rick James among many, many others. It is truly a city with a rich musical history, GCR continues this tradition of recordings with compilations, EPs and full length recordings from more of Western New York's finest artists, and there's always more to come."
GCR clients include:
American Sunseekers, Amungus, Boxkar, Crush the Everlasting, Cute Is What We Aim For, David Cook, Hours Apart, Ian Gillan, Inner Chyld, Junkbutton, Myron and the Id, Mother Red, Son of the Sun, Spyro Gyra, Still Fighting It, The Goo Goo Dolls, The Incurables, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, This is an Empire, Sun and Moon Face, The Stand
