Mattie's Restaurant, part of the Fillmore Business District, is located on Fillmore Avenue in Buffalo New York and has been serving the area since 1972. Owned and operated by husband and wife, George A. and Mattie Holt. George A. Holt is a former Erie County Legislative Representative.
George and Mattie Holt have been working in the Fillmore area for more than 30 years, Mattie remembers walking past Lucky's Texas Hots one afternoon back in 1968 when Texas Red Hot places were popping up all over. Lucky's owner asked if Mattie would like a job there, she accepted. 4 years later Mattie purchased the restaurant and has been running it ever since.
