The Gourmet Store
This is one of those places that if someone didn't tell you about it, you would never know that it was there. Once you figure out where it is, chances are that you will go back over and over. The atmosphere is very unique - it's set in-between a 1920 Green & Wicks building and a contemporary steel and glass structure.
When you're eating in the mezzanine you get the feeling that you're outside. There's also an outdoor patio. As for the eatery, The Gourmet Store is pretty cute. Almost like a country side market, but located inside a very eclectic setting. A wide variety of salads along with a very popular build-your-own sandwich option.
Due to the location, the eatery is a big draw for the nearby business crowd. You can find it near the Metro Rail route. The historic building was purchased by The City in 1978 and came close to being demolished. If you're into architecture and good food, then this is the place for you. Bring a healthy appetite if you order anything 'large'.
