WNY Offshore Powerboat Association Blackjack Run
Each year the biggest and the baddest powerboats come from all over the region to race this poker run. These sexy boats are the fastest in the area, and when they take off from the starting line you can hear it all over the city.
The course runs down the Niagara River and back. That leg is set by a pace boat. From there the racers open it up and set out full speed out onto the lake and over to Sunset Bay where they have lunch before heading back to Erie Basin Marina.
'09 was the 25th Anniversary of the WNYOPA race. Over 50 performance boats entered turning Buffalo's waterfront into a powerhouse showing.
