Buffalo Really Really Free Market
Once a year, Buffalo joins a national movement that is geared to remind people that capitalism is not the only way of life. At this market, attendees bring along stuff that they have no more use for, and if they happen to find something of interest while there, then they can grab it and go.
There's no cost to making a 'purchase'. The market is based on a the premise of an alternate gift economy. Bring some books or some tools. Bring a song or a service. Just be sure to stop by and say hello to friends and neighbors, browse a while, and see what it's like to attend a completely free market!
Each year the market moves about. In July of '10 it is being held on the West Side of the city.
