Buffalo Light
Built in 1833, Buffalo Light has become an iconic symbol of the city's waterfront. The light has not been operationally lit since 1914, though there have been marked occasions when it has been ceremoniously lit (Bicentennial, etc).
The image of the lighthouse can be seen on the city's seal due to it's importance in guiding immigrants into the Buffalo Harbor. Those same immigrants built the city, thus the lighthouse continues to shine as a historic beacon.
Buffalo Lighthouse Association maintains the structure and keeps it in good condition.
