RE: Father Conway Park
Named after Father Thomas Conway, Roman Catholic Navy Chaplain and last chaplain to die in WWII,was aboard the ill-fated USS Indianapolis on the return trip from Tinian when it was torpedoed and all hands went into the sea. Conway was called a hero for saving lives while waiting for rescue until he perished.
