Ray Hassard Composite Streetscape
Located at the Amherst Street Metro Rail Station, this composite streetscape by Ray Hassard was part of an art installation coinciding with the opening of the Metro Rail in 1985. The entire effort cost $1.15 million - a staggering amount of money for the time.
The streetscape acts as a backdrop to the subway cars, thus allowing the waiting passengers to gaze at a series of houses actually found in the neighborhood.
