George Sugarman Sculptures

George Sugarman Sculptures

Located at the Summer/Best Metro Rail Station, this series of sculptures by George Sugarman was part of an art installation coinciding with the opening of the Metro Rail in 1985. The entire effort cost $1.15 million - a staggering amount of money for the time.

The outdoor works of art look to be outdated and are in need of some paint. The interior sculptures are in good shape, though the colors chosen are definitely dated.

Alas, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Plus, back in 1985 these types of looks were par for the course in an era that... well, I'll just say that these are befitting of that time period.
