Squaw Island

Squaw Island

This park could possibly be the most obscure park in the city. Due to its obscurity, Squaw Island has become a destination for anyone looking to get away and enjoy the waterfront.

The island is a remediated dumping ground - not a place that you would normally think about going. There are bike trails and boat locks, plenty of space to throw Frisbees, picnic, and lay in the sun. It can be a tough park to find, but it's well worth the trouble!

You can get there from the bike trail at the foot of West Ferry. Or take the Jesse Kriegel trail that winds along Scajaquada Creek (from Delaware Park).
