Buffalo Gas Light Company
This Romanesque Revival facade is all that remains of the 1859 Gas Works building designed by John H. Selkirk. Only recently did Blue Cross / Blue Shield build their corporate headquarters at the site, thus incorporating the historic landmark into the modern building's footprint.
Today the Gas Works facade acts as an elevated interior courtyard for building employees - a rather interesting reuse and an unprecedented combination of new meets old architecture.
