Bricks for Buffalo Women's Walkway
This brick walkway and memorial was dedicated in 2002 for 100 prominent deceased women in WNY. Located at the entranceway of the DL&W Terminal. From the group Working for Downtown:
Those honored include Lucille Ball, a popular television entertainer, Clara Barton, founder of the American Red Cross, and Belva Bennett Lockwood, the first woman to run for US president. The Women's Walkway, through the collaboration of Working for Downtown and the Women's Pavilion Pan Am 2001, commemorates the Centennial Celebration of the Pan American Exposition.
