Soldiers Circle

Soldiers Circle

Part of the Olmsted Parks System, Soldiers Circle connects Soldiers Place, Bidwell Parkway and Chapin Parkway.

At around 1930, the four naval parrot rifles (and pyramids of cannon balls) that once 'stood guard' at Soldiers Circle were taken away and scrapped for metal. Since that time there have been various efforts made to bring back the military features.

In the meantime, the circle is planted with flowers and hundreds of little American flags are stuck into the ground during military holidays such as the Fourth of July.
