Edible Book Festival
The International Edible Book Festival is a yearly event held on or around April 1 throughout the world .This event unites bibliophiles, book artists and food lovers to celebrate the ingestion of culture and its fulfilling nourishment.
Participants create edible books that are exhibited, documented then consumed. April 1st is also the perfect day to eat your words and play with them. April 1st is chosen to commemorate the birthday of French gastronome Jean-Anthelme Brillat-Savarin (1755 - 1826), famous for his book "Physiologie du got". This is our second annual event, last year was such a success we decided it needed to be an annual event here in Buffalo as well.
The April 1st event will run from 6-9 pm, with judging between 6:30-7:30. Prizes will be awarded and winners will be announced approx. at 8pm in the categories of: Best book, Best Tasting, Most creative, Best of Show and the Children's Pick. Then we eat our words! Everyone is allowed to partake in eating the exhibits after Judging.
