If you're heading to the Niagara Cafe around lunchtime, be prepared to wait a bit. Ever since this place moved back to its original location at the corner of Niagara and Pennsylvania, it has been busier than ever.
Very authentic Puerto Rican diner serving a wide variety of items including half and whole chickens. Sides include tostones, pastelillos, alcapurria, pastels, yellow or white rice with habichuelas or pigeon peas. Entrees range from steak and onions to breaded fried shrimp, chicken stew to fish fry.
You can tell by the crowd that you are in the right place for authentic dishes. Service is fast and friendly and you can either order at the counter or a waitress will come and serve you.
