Locust Street Art is a non-profit organization in the fruit belt. It's an art school and THE CLASSES ARE FOR FREE! Founder is Molly Bethel.

This school offers photography classes, clay, poetry classes, drawing and painting.

Molly Bethel (Founder, Director, Teacher: beginning - advanced Teen/Adult Painting & Drawing, Children's Painting & Drawing): Molly Bethels extensive art teaching experience, dating from 1951, includes employment in Taiwan, Washington, D.C. and throughout the Buffalo area. As a painter, she has participated in one-person (El Museo Gallery, Olean Public Library Gallery), two-person, and group shows, and is represented by Gallerie Moos in Toronto.

On behalf of the Neighborhood Art Classes, and in conjunction with Olga Lownie, Molly Bethel shared a 1985 New York State Governor's Arts Award in 1987. She similarly shared the first Annual Arts Award to an Organization for Outstanding Contribution to the Arts in Erie County, presented by the Buffalo Area Chamber of Commerce and the Arts Council of Buffalo & Erie County. She received a 1993 Founder's Day Award from the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and a 1992 Achievement award from the Buffalo Branch of American Association of University Women.

Molly earned a BA in Art History from Vassar College (1956), and studied at the Cornelia Yuditsky School of Creative Art in Washington DC, beginning as a child and remaining through her early 20s as a beginning teacher. In 1996, she was awarded a Buffalo News Citizen of the Year Award. As a painter, Molly has recently had one-woman shows at the Gallerie Moos in Toronto, Ontario and the McLaren Art Centre in Barrie, Ontario.

The photography teachers are Lenore Bethel and Kenn Morgan. The adult painting class teachers are Molly Bethel and Lenore Bethel. And for the younger classes the teachers are the following: Tysheka Long,Garry Collins, And Sky Bethel. The clay teachers are Dorothy Harold and Sally Danforth. Last but not least the teenage assistance are Ruthie Long And Rain Bethel. This school has been here since 1959 and still stands strong today!
