Bryan Hopkins Porcelain
As we have seen, the Tri-Main building on Main Street is filled with may artist studios - the diversity of talents within the building is astounding. To add to the mix is Bryan Hopkins' porcelain studio - his work encompasses two categories known as function and dysfunction. From Bryan:
My studio is located on the 5th floor of an enormous industrial building in Buffalo, NY. Originally built as a Ford manufacturing plant in the 1920s, the building now houses almost 100 businesses, chocolate factory, cafe, and over 50 artists.
I am part of a not-for-profit group called the Buffalo Arts Studio. I share the clay area with 6 other ceramic artists. I use Southern Ice porcelain and Standard #257 porcelain. My wheel is a Thomas Stuart, pug mill by Venco.
