Broderick Park

The revitalization of Broderick Park (foot of West Ferry) is close at hand. For years this park was neglected, which is unfortunate due to its prime location along the Niagara River. With the help of groups like Riverkeeper and the Buffalo Micro Parks, this waterfront amenity will once again attract families to fish, picnic, and play.

Broderick Park is also the terminus of the Bird Island Pier - that's the pier that divides the Black Rock Channel and the Buffalo River. It's a long walk that ends up all the way past LaSalle Park. Just remember, you have to walk back, so watch out for bad weather.

On the north side of Broderick Park is the entrance to the Niagara River bike trail. That trail takes you all the way to Squaw Island and on to Delaware Park.

From the Buffalo Micro Parks:

Buffalo Micro Parks, in partnership with Buffalo Niagara Riverkeeper, is expanding our Ferry Fishing Park proposal to include the entire park in order to ensure active use, heighten public access, encourage involvement, promote awareness of the sites rich history and greatly enhance connectivity with the water.
