Tow Path Park
This is one of the nicest waterfront parks in the city. Located at the foot of Hertel Avenue, Tow Path offers visitors plenty of fishing opportunities on the Niagara River or grass to throw a Frisbee - there's even a walking/jogging circle.
Named after the path where wild oxen once pulled barges down the Erie Canal via long ropes, Tow Path Park is now manicured with attractive pavers, plantings, lighting, places to sit and rest, and it's practically litter free. The best part is that the cars are kept out of the park, making it a place for people rather than for vehicles. What a concept!
