Muhammad's School of Music
MSOM was established in 1999 with only 10 students and has grown to currently serve over 100 students throughout Western New York.
The MSOM String Ensemble has performed in countless venues including concert halls, churches, community centers and for nearly every setting from symphony orchestra concerts, weddings, birthdays, and outdoor festivals.
MSOM has been featured in newspapers and magazines, on television and radio appearances, and with artists such as Bill Cosby, Herbie Hancock, Beverly Johnson, and Minister Louis Farrakhan.
The MSOM String Ensemble has toured statewide and has performed in cities such as New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C and Detroit.
Music is a universal language and the skills learned when studying the classical instruments and classical music, such as discipline, consistency, self-esteem, teamwork, and passion for their craft, positively transcend into any chosen field of endeavor.
Great achievers, educators, civilizations, and nations all over the world have recognized that learning to play a musical instrument (particularly the classical stringed instruments) is essential and necessary in a cultivating a well-rounded individual.
Unfortunately, access to such training in our community is often limited and/or inadequate leaving our children at a global disadvantage. MSOM, however has made its goal to help every child it serves become the best and brightest, not only in music, but with the unique gift that each of us is given by God.
At MSOM we believe the children are the future. MSOM is committed to doing our part to produce a refined, polished, intelligent, and brilliant future not only in classical music, but in todays society.
