Grant Street Greenhouse
The Grant Street Greenhouse is not open to the public, but that doesn't mean that you can't enjoy some of the fruits of the owner's labor from time to time. After years of sitting vacant, greens are finally growing again inside the oldest operational commercial glasshouse in Buffalo.
When there are more greens harvested than the owner can handle, he has been known to take the excess bounty across the street to Sweet_ness 7 Cafe where they incorporate the fresh pickings into the menu. In back of the greenhouse are public growing lots that can be leased by the community (search Navigetter).
The greenhouse operates without supplemental heat - a technique based on the practices of another gardener located in the state of Main. The oldest remaining commercial greenhouse in the city is an incredible asset to the West Side of Buffalo.
