Extreme Community Garden
Where once a house stood, there is now a community garden being planted. Thanks to the piggybacking efforts of the Extreme Makeover show arriving just down the street, hundreds and thousands of volunteers have been unleashed unto this neighborhood to restore its ripped urban fabric.
This corner was once a drop zone for drug dealers. Now it will symbolize a community's efforts to revitalize its damaged roots. The ground has been tilled and ReTree trees are being planted. Come spring this corner will be a welcome change from what was there previously.
