Campus House

Most Buffalonians have no clue that there is a small members-only hospitality club on Buffalo State Campus. I've lived here a long time and only recently did I get the opportunity to step inside.

Anyone can become a member of Campus House, and with an initiation fee of just $200, it's probably the best deal in the region. After that $100 a year grants you access to socials, lunches, dinners, cocktails or simply a cup of coffee - all prepared by students training to be professionals in the field of Hospitality and Tourism.

The food is excellent and the atmosphere is divine - there's even a fireplace for the colder months and a patio to enjoy on warmer days. One of the original five campus buildings and former residence of past college presidents. Open cooking arena, dining room, bar and front foyer. From Campus House:

Campus House features nouvelle cuisine, with an emphasis on the use of simple and direct cooking methods and harmony in all dishes. Menu items are carefully selected and prepared using the freshest ingredients. We use local grocers and New York State produce whenever possible.

Our expanded selections include organic items and ethnic seasonings to complement specialty-menu items, created by student-chefs developing their skills and talents as culinary arts professionals.

Salads, soups, pasta dish, sandwich, burger, small plates, beer, wine cocktails...
