Connecticut Street Sculpture Garden
This Grassroots Garden is my favorite in the city... I think. Then again, it depends on the day as to which one is my favorite. What I love about this particular garden is the whimsical sculptures that occupy it.
Many of the works of art were made by Architect Brad Wales and his University at Buffalo students as part of the Small Built Works project. Take a walk through the gates and stroll along the winding paths while examining the different mediums including brick, concrete, iron and steel, and recycled materials. Sit for a spell and observe the different plants and vegetables that have taken root. This is a hardcore urban garden that speaks for the ongoing renaissance of the city's West Side.
