Event: The Harvest Celebration
Each November, Grassroots Gardens of Buffalo holds its annual fundraiser, The Harvest Celebration at the beautiful Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum at 453 Porter Avenue.
Events vary from year to year!
Admission is just $25 for members and $30 for non-members, which includes food and beverages for the evening. The refreshments include gourmet wine, beer, locally brewed Chateau Buffalo hard cider, soft drinks and hors doeuvres from local restaurants. In addition, our celebration will entertain you with a silent auction and raffle with fabulous prizes, a slideshow of the community gardens and an exciting performance by a local swing dancing troupe, Queen City Swing.
The Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum is the perfect atmosphere for socializing and enjoying a relaxing evening with friends. On display in the Museum will be the exhibit, The Evolution of Darwin, featuring the conclusion page of Darwins The Origin of Species.
Come celebrate with us and get to know more about Grassroots Gardens of Buffalo, a non-profit organization devoted to the creation and support of community gardens throughout the city, where vacant property and blight have decimated many neighborhoods. These gardens bring people together and empower them and their neighborhoods to create places of beauty, hope, peace and productivity. What started in 1992 with a few gardens has now grown to include more than 50 gardens throughout Buffalo, particularly in the Citys east and west side neighborhoods.
Last years event was a great success; please join us to celebrate and support the hard work of our community gardeners that are making Buffalo a better place!
