Sterling Place Tavern
Ask anyone in North Buffalo and they will tell you that the Sterling Tavern is the place to go for burgers. Hands down the best burger joint in the city - but it doesn't resemble a burger joint on the inside. Rather it is an old tavern that happens to be good at flippin' burgers.
This is the place to go if you're looking to catch some casual grub, watch a Sabres game, and enjoy some different selections of beers. Actually, these guys are known to have one of the best beer selections on Hertel. Don't get me wrong, they have a bunch of different offerings of pub food - though the regulars here are not just regulars... they are die hard fans of their beloved burger flippin' pub! Oh, they have an excellent fish fry too.
On Tuesday nights, the back room attracts board game, card and chess players who break out skilled card games and brain teasers.
