Coronation Day
Thankfully the city does have a few attractive sculptures located at the Downtown hub. Coronation Day, by Kenneth Snelson, was erected on 1980 and does an excellent job drawing viewers' gazes away from the painfully brutalist design of the City Court Building. From the Buffalo Arts Commission:
"Abstract sculpture is composed of 12 chrome steel tubes suspended by a web of steel cables. A triangular base is formed by three upright steel tubes, which is mirrored by three inverted steel tubes. Two sets of 3 horizontal steel tubes are suspended at 10 feet and 15 feet respectively.
"This sculpture was funded jointly by the National Endowment for the Arts and the City of Buffalo."
