Squaw Island Pier
One of the best fishing destinations in Buffalo and you can get there by bike. If you can find the entrance to Squaw Island, then all you have to do is follow the road that winds through the park. You'll be tempted to stop along the way when you spy the rushing Niagara River, a water access point for canines, the Black Rock Locks, the vast picnic fields and the manicured trails.
If you're coming by bike, then you can take the Greenway Trail along the river. If you're coming by car, then you're going to have to cross the old mechanical truss bridge - there's a bike lane there too. I've actually gotten stuck on the bridge (on my bike) when the operator rotated it to let a sailboat through the channel. It was a fun ride to say the least. The entrance to Squaw Island is near the Niagara Street Bend close to Wayne Street.
