Shea’s Performing Arts Center

Sometimes referred to as Shea's Wonder Theatre:

Built in the style of a European opera house in 1926 and a National Historic Site, Shea's Performing Arts Center continues to entertain audiences today with touring Broadway shows, concerts, opera, dance, historic tours, a classic film series, educational programs, and family shows.

More than 30 years ago, volunteers prevented Shea's Buffalo Theatre from becoming a parking lot by having it listed on the registry of historic sites. Buffalo Audio Tours:

Through the years, more volunteers have worked on maintaining and restoring the interior of the theatre.

Traditional craftsmanship and decorating skills are combined with modern tools and equipment to restore the splendor that Michael Shea envisioned over 80 years ago. Man-made marble rises more than 30 feet in the Grand Lobby, Czech crystal beads in the magnificent chandeliers featured throughout the theatre, intricate stencil patterns adorne the halls and lobbies - share in the history of this proud wonder theatre with your family and friends for years to come.
