Buffalo International Film Festival

The 5th Buffalo International Film Festival October 7-23, 2011. Various WNY venues. 50 films.

Usually held in the month of October, the Buffalo International Film Festival (BIFF) has re-energized the movie and film message in Western New York. As a 501c3 not-for-profit charity, BIFF has a number of activities in its tax-exempt mission. These include, among others:

* The Buffalo Film Society
* The Buffalo Cinematheque
* The Buffalo Walk of Fame
* The New York State Movie Theater Corridor
* The Digital Nitrate Prize
* How Science Works: The Film and Video Competition
* Professional Filmmaker Workshops
* Western New York Professional Video and Film Directory

We also work closely with many Western New York Charities helping them in their fundraising activities and also supplying them with free and discounted tickets to our events.

BIFF acts a conduit or pass-through organization for film and video makers applying for production and other grants in order to encourage production in the Western New York region.

BIFF believes that only through community cooperation can humanity progress.

We need dependable, motivated, hard-working and self-supervising volunteers who will be available reliably for extended periods of time.

In 2009 the festival included showings of Walt Disney, Charlie Chaplin, World Premieres, Katherine Hepburn, Charles Band, Comedy, Drama, Foreign Films, American Classics, The Al Boasberg Comedy Award and much more. Special Guests, workshops.

Most events are held at the Market Arcade Film and Arts Center. 6 events each week.
