Buffalo Weather Experience Center

Concept:

There is a growing momentum to build a weather experience center somewhere on the city's waterfront. This is just one of the concept renderings. The exact location of the center has not been identified, as the group is still in the process of identifying funding sources. Visit the website to learn more about what it is going to take to get this vision off the ground.

From the website:

The Mission of the Buffalo Weather Experience Center (BWEC) is to engage, educate and excite visitors of all ages about weathers impact on everyday life as well as its importance to the future of our planet. Through interactive, entertaining exhibits, awe-inspiring programs and unforgettable weather-related experiences, the Center strives to remind us all of the power, wonder and science of weather.

The Buffalo Weather Experience Center will be a spectacular, signature facility on the Buffalo waterfront, internationally recognized as a state-of-the-art, world class destination and dedicated to the study of weather and global climate phenomena.

The Center will attract eager visitors of all ages through exciting, dynamic exhibits and cutting-edge technology.

*From a marketing point-of-view, Buffalo has already been branded when it comes to weather because of 12 inches of snow that fell 30 years ago. The vision of the Buffalo Weather Experience Center is to capitalize on that attention to create a nationally-renowned center for studying and enjoying weather.
