2011 USAT Elite National Championship

On behalf of USA Triathlon, Pete Harvey with The Buffalo Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Dan Horan of Eclipse Multi-Sport, we welcome you to The Nickel City Triathlon in Buffalo, NY.

Eclipse Multi-Sport (formally TRIWNY) has been selected to host the inaugural USA Triathlon Elite Series Championships. This event is part of USA Triathlon's "Twenty-12" Series and it promises to bring some of the worlds best talent to Buffalo, NY. Professionals as well as amateur Triathlete's locally and from across the globe will descend on Western New York to race and possibly capture a spot on the 2012 Olympic Team!

Both the Olympic & Sprint distance races are on a completely closed course. USA Triathlon will be largely involved. The same infrastructure from the National Championships in Tuscaloosa, AL will be used in Buffalo.

Come out and race and get a chance to see the pros compete for the prize money.

This is the culmination of the Triathlon season in Western New York! Buffalo is the host of the USAT Elite National Championships where the prize purse is the richest in the series at $75,000, of which $25,000 will serve as a bonus for the top-five American finishers. Double points will be offered as well to the Pro-Field, making the Nickel City Triathlon a must do!

All Triathletes are welcome! Age group races are special qualifiers for the USAT National Championships. The top 33% will qualify for Nationals.

DISTANCES
Sprint - 750 meter Swim , 12.4 mi Bike (20k), 3.1mi Run (5k)
Olympic - 0.9 mi Swim (1.5k), 24.8 mi Bike (40k), 6.2 mi Run (10k)
