Music is Art
After years of coinciding with the Allentown Art Festival, Music is Art has found a much better home at the Albright-Knox. The day-long music and art festival literally transforms the grounds surrounding this world-renowned gallery into a wonderland for musicians, children and fans of the city's art scene.
Music is Art is the brainchild of Goo Goo Dolls' bass guitarist and hi-profile artist around town, Robby Takac. Each year this festival gets bigger, 'badder', and more like the big blend of sounds and sights that Robby envisioned from the start. DJ's in the round, giant robot sculptures, lasers and light shows, three main stages, Hula hoopers, dancers, painters, local bands, interactive art, cutting edge hair stylists, multi-media, visual artists, kids' village... all combined, this festival helps to put Buffalo on the map as one of the leading artistic city's in the US.
It's good to know that the proceeds from Music is Art go towards providing music and art scholastic programming for young people who would otherwise go without.
