Days Park
One of my favorite parks in Buffalo - some call it the lost Olmsted Park. Conveniently situated at the end of bohemian Allen Street, yet far enough from the maddening crowd to offer peace and solitude. I've seen wedding ceremonies, dog walkers, Frisbee players, picnickers, fire dancers, lemonade stands, and flower gardens.
I've sat under a Days Park tree with my girlfriend as part of an initial date. I witnessed the return of the original water fountain that had been stolen during Buffalo's dark period. I've eagerly awaited this neighborhood's return to a coherent, thoughtful oasis where people are proud of their surroundings, invest in their properties, and wave the park's flag for the whole city to see.
