Hope Garden
After taking down the ugly fencing at the corner of Lafayette and Grant, it was decided that a community garden was needed. Activists, Grassroots Gardens, PUSH, Our Lady of Hope Church and David Rivera came together to realize the vision.
Today the corner not only looks great, it serves as a place where neighbors can meet, plant and paint. This is just one of the unkempt West Side lots that has experienced a make-over. When visiting the garden, be sure to stop over to Sweet_ness 7 Cafe across the street.
