I can't tell you how many people have no idea that this place is a bar and restaurant. Those who do, know that the food is above par and the prices are below average. The exterior is gorgeous and the interior is so neat that you feel like you're in your own private club.
The brunches here rule. The lunches are always consistent and the Friday dinners are the place to be. If you live in the neighborhood then you know that the Hamlin House aka 'Troop I' is a regular haunt that feels like home (especially if you live in a mansion). The quirky retro furniture is tacky and fun. There is a theater-like venue in the back that's perfect for dances, social gatherings, weddings, and political sparring.
Troop I should never be overlooked - especially the patio in the summertime. That's where you will find hundreds of people partying during the Allentown Art Festival. Casual dress in a super chill atmosphere.
