RE: The Place Restaurant
Thanks for the nice write up. Just a few fun things to add:
We originally opened in 1941 as a restaurant.
Ran by the same family for over 50 years.
We were closed for nearly 3 years.
Edward "Buddy" Flynn and Thomas "Poppy" Moriarity ran the restaurant for multiple decades until it was passed on to the current owner Ken Moriarity.
Our signature sandwich is the "Flynnie Thinnie"...which is made up of ham, swiss and onion on very thinly sliced rye bread (in my opinion best served grilled crispy).
For the winter holiday season we serve thousands of hot "Tom and Jerrys", which are made with rum, brandy, hot water, our special "fluff" and topped with nutmeg.
We truly appreciate all our customer base for their continued patronage, even in tough times, to our establishment.
Ken jr.
