Buffalo Writers Group
We are a group of writers and aspiring writers who meet to socialize, encourage each other, and provide a critique of one another's work. We are a fairly small, intimate group--typically numbering from 3 to 7 members. We meet every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Spot Coffee on the corner of Delaware Avenue and W. Chippewa Street in Buffalo, NY.
New members are always welcome. Please feel free to join us at Spot next Wednesday. To find us, look for the table with lots of papers in front of us -- and sometimes a big red feather! Don't be afraid to introduce yourself!
For more information, you can request membership via our Yahoo Group. When you request membership, you will receive an automated response with a copy of our flyer that explains the group in more depth.
The focus of each meeting is to critique or "workshop" writing that members are looking to improve through group feedback. We also discuss topics related to the writing profession, plan public readings, and anything else that members are interested in pursuing.
You don't have to be a professional to join us; we have people running the gamut from wannabees, hopeful screenwriters and poets, to magazine contributors, professional reviewers and writers. Whether youre a student or a sage, an aspiring novelist or published historian, a housewife (househusband?) or single parent, young or old, experienced or dont know which end of the pencil to use, please stop by and check us out. All you have to have is a desire to fill up blank pages with your words.
