The Catholic Academy of West Buffalo
The Catholic Academy of West Buffalo is a regional school, established in 1988, and comprised of eleven member parishes. The school is a Roman Catholic Educational Community with Catholic Doctrine and values as the base of its curriculum and environment. Its mission is to provide a high quality of education in this tradition.
Catholic education is alive and well in the diocese of Buffalo! At Catholic Academy of West Buffalo, we are celebrating over 20 years of excellence in education. Located at 1069 Delaware Avenue, in the heart of Buffalos historic district, our school is strong and vibrant and we embrace our Catholic faith and the diversity of our neighborhoods.
We offer programs in grades Pre-K (3) through 8th grade. In Nov. 2008, our 5th graders had a 100% passing rate on the NYS Social Studies test. Students in our 2009 graduating class won over $100,000 in academic scholarships to area high schools. Students in grades 6 & 8 won awards in the WNY Science Congress in April. Students from 7th grade won honors at the St. Joseph Collegiate Institute Math Contest. The Art Honors class won an Honorable Mention at the Albright Knox Art Gallery Arts Alive contest on June 6th. The varsity boys' basketball team won the divisional title and (6) students won medals at the Diocesan Track Meet. We feel a great sense of pride for all our students' accomplishments!
We also pride ourselves on a rigorous academic program and offer a wide variety of extra curricular activities. We are challenged by changing educational strategies and always strive to keep current with curriculum and technological advances. We are excited that (8) whiteboards have been installed in classrooms and our students will be exposed to the most recent trends in education.
