Inside this West Side market you will find the things that culinary dreams are made of - especially if you like saving money and grilling. And though it is called The Meating Place, there are plenty of other offerings for cooks in search of non-meat related items.
Every time I walk into this market I see something new. Whether it is frozen desserts from Rich Products or gigantic jars of ketchup and hot sauce, I am never at a loss when it comes to picking up something good. One staple that I find here is a huge package of cheese strips that is perfect when I'm looking to make a professional deli submarine sandwich. Don't be surprised to see local restaurant chefs shuffling down the aisles in search of quality bulk items for their own kitchens.
The Meating Place is about as eclectic as it gets. Walk in with an open mind and leave your shopping list at home. I guarantee that you'll end up purchasing items that never would have made the list anyways. I'm told that the custom cuts of meat ordered here are the best in the city.
