Junior League Pavilion @ LaSalle Park
This modern day band shell, or pavilion, is one of two permanent music venues in the city - the other being The Yard at Rock Harbor (search Navigetter). The project was made possible thanks to spearheading and grant funding from the Junior League of Buffalo titled Endowment for Waterfront Performing Arts Concerts. The 1981 funding was made available thanks to the proceeds from the first Show House: the Larkin House.
Each summer a select number of concerts and festivals take place here, such as the Rick James Tribute Concert in August. As you can see, there is plenty of lawn space surrounding the pavilion and if you're lucky a nice wind blows right off the lake. Nearby is a playground, soccer fields, a dog park, grilling picnic shelters, softball diamonds, splash pads, Centennial Pool, and a handful of trees offering shade.
