16 Foot Ethereal Fiberglass Sculpture by John Field
Though there are many reasons to go to Forest Lawn Cemetery, one of the most ethereal and fantastic is this sculpture created in 1998 by John Field. To say that it is inspirational and uplifting is an understatement. As you walk around the work, it comes alive, and though each and every detail is not refined, the overlying energy it exudes is palpable.
Once situated in front of the divine creation, it is hard to break away from its grasp. I would imagine that one day there will be hundreds of gravestones surrounding these two figures. As it stands now, the raised manicured fields create an on-high pedestal for this soul searching sculpture, thus commanding absolute attention from each and every passersby.
